Confession: I am scared, inspired, nervous, prepared, excited and dreaming big.

A week from tomorrow, I will get on a plane with a suitcase full of neoprene, body glide, muddy shoes, snacks, and spandex. (Hopefully all this gear will land in Vegas with me!) When I step off the plane into the desert I will be facing one of my biggest dreams and challenges.

People keep asking me “Are you ready?”

  • Am I ready to push my body for 24 hours?
  • Am I ready to jump off a gigantic cliff that scares the s*it out of me?
  • Am I ready to have my feet hurt so bad I can hardly walk?
  • Am I ready to meet some of the most amazing people IN THE WORLD?

AM I READY TO ACHIEVE A GOAL I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON FOR YEARS?

The other day I reflected on what moment I am most excited for and my answer was “The moment I cross the finish line hardly able to walk knowing that I accomplished what I set out to do.”

I want you to have that same feeling about a goal in your life.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of creating a big huge scary goal, training and working so hard for it, and then showing up and ACHIEVING it. *I’m assuming this will feel amazing – check back in two weeks when I’m back and I will hopefully tell you how kick ass it feels.”

However, the true confession for today is that I know I need your help. I have been so fortunate to have you rooting me on this whole time. I am also so lucky to work with people who inspire me to push myself and work harder.

Now I would like to draw on that inspiration. It’s going to be dark in the desert in the middle of the night. I will be cold, wet, HUNGRY (maybe HANGRY) and here’s where you come in. If you would like to write me a note, a letter, a card or color a picture, I am going to package them up and open them up one by one during the event (especially during the night).

You can bring them by the gym (Relative Strength 8808 7th Ave N, Golden Valley)

I can’t begin to tell you how much this would mean to me and how much of a push it will give me when I will want to give up.

And I want to know – what big, scary, crazy dream are you working towards? Or what has been in your head that you haven’t started because it scares you? Tell me – lindsey@lindseyheiserman.com

His words to live by “When is the last time you did something for the first time?”

Even if you never do a TM, the pledge is something we can all incorporate into our life.

Life is not a race but a challenge

I value teamwork and camaraderie

I do not whine – kids whine

I help people in life complete their goals

AND I OVERCOME ALL FEARS.
