In this episode we are hitting a heavy topic – mental health, depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder and how to reach out for help and take care of yourself.
In this first episode of our Men’s Health series we talk to Matt B. Davis. Matt and I discuss mental health (a topic in my opinion that is not discussed often enough and often not with men).
I “met” Matt through listening to his podcast “Obstacle Racing Media” and also his new podcast “The Atlanta Podcast.” What was really amazing to me and admirable is that he opened up very willingly about his struggle with mental health: anxiety and then a bi-polar diagnosis.
Matt takes us through his story and the steps he took (and is still taking) to take care of himself and his mental health.

My hope through this episode is that we can remove some of the stigma around discussing mental health and encourage you to talk to someone if you’re struggling. So many people are struggling in silence and feel shame around not being able to “fix it” or “change it” and simply telling someone about what you’re going through can open the flood gates of support.
