Interview with Dr Molly King – Aging, Injuries and Prevention Through the Decades
Are you an "aging athlete?" That's what Dr Molly King calls me (and many other people). We are holding on with all our might to our athletic days and working to remain active and strong throughout all our years.
Dr Molly joins me for an incredible discussion about aging, injuries and prevention through the decades. We start with kids around age 10 and work our way up to 60-70+.
This conversation is a must for anyone who wants to stay strong and capable throughout their lifetime.
AND it's incredibly informative for parents of athletes and those who want their kids to become strong and resilient.
In this episode we discuss:
- Injuries throughout the decades and how to manage and possibly prevent them
- What to consider as you age
- How to support your kids as they grow and especially if they are in athletics
- The role physical therapy can play for "aging athletes" (that's me!)
- Considerations you can make to age with strength and ability
About Dr Molly
Molly grew up in rural southern Minnesota and always knew she wanted to go into the medical field. Driven by her desire to build relationships with patients and create meaningful change in their lives, she pursued an undergraduate degree in athletic training, followed by her doctorate in physical therapy. With her roots in athletics, she specializes in working with athletes and active adults, from teen competitors to professionals. She especially enjoys bridging the gap from rehab to performance. She continues to practice athletic training alongside physical therapy, covering basketball games at a small private high school, as well as community events.
Outside of physical therapy, Molly enjoys spending time with her husband and son, weightlifting, cooking, being outdoors, and refinishing furniture.

I always joke with Dr Molly that I don't want to see her, which really means I want to stay injury free. She is the best resource and support for all of my injuries and my goals to stay focused as an "aging athlete!"
